We are a rural benefice made up of two parishes. We are blessed with beautiful medieval churches that have been places of stillness and prayer for over 700 years.

As churches, we maintain a central tradition within the Church of England. We aim to be open and inclusive and to create a culture in which we can deepen and nurture our faith in Jesus Christ.

Many church members are actively involved in the life of the villages of Smarden and Biddenden, where they help foster caring and lively parish communities. While rejoicing in our special historic heritage, we aim to challenge the barriers between people and to become truly 'a church without walls'.

Come and join us for services, celebrations, children's events, prayer groups or simply coffee mornings. We look forward to meeting you.

Alex Bienfait
